Make me smile

Post by mjh1972 »

one of my main issues and incidentally the one that is causing me the most issues at work is my demeanor. Generally i need to start smiling and improve my communication skills particularly my body language.

Please does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can do this? cognitive behavior therapy or anything would be considered! but I need to smile more and be more affable ???

I found an assertiveness course extremely helpful in communicating confidently. There are some good books, and you can find free leaflets at http://www.getselfhelp.co.uk/freedownloads.htm - although if you can attend a course it is the best way to learn. I attended mine through the NHS, as part of help for depression. If you can learn, or teach yourself, assertiveness skills you will find that your body language automatically changes through you feeling more confident.

I hope this helps.
