Difficulty with Sounds

Post by LGC2108 »

Does anyone else have difficulty with certain sounds.
I often have difficulties with the phone ringing and doorbell, causing anxiety and heart palpitations.
Polystyrene, balloons and glossy magazines often make me feel cold and nauseous.
When I was younger, I often cried when I heard babies crying, and still feel uncomfortable about the sound now.
Does anyone else have similar problems?

Phones ringing, doors knocking. It's not the sound that bugs me, it's merely answering the phone/door!
I never answer them. You'd think I hated people haha

Sounds I hate... People slapping their lips. I try to endure it when it's people who I can't tell to pack it in! But it's gotten to a point where I hate it so much that just seeing people eat with their mouth open really jars me off! People crunching loudly also bugs me.
People making noises like 'tapping', 'thumping'. Most noises caused by themselves really. They frustrate me.

Don't judge me for this one but my mum talking can sometimes frustrate me. I really wish it didn't but I can't help it :/ I don't know what it is with that. I just can't get into a conversation with her and I get irritated when u do :/ That's one that I wish didn't happen. Don't get me wrong though, there are a lot of times when we do get a long really well when we're joking around that is! It's an odd one. I do love her to bits though! I couldn't tell her how I feel though...

The dripping sound the toilet occasionally makes annoys me. Hearing the tv downstairs from my bedroom irritates me. Hearing music that I like from a distance makes me somewhat restless where I have to listen to it or see what it is.

I don't know if this is all a bit extreme haha

This is really interesting to read. I am also irritated by the background sound of music and the TV.

I don't know what it is with background noise. Maybe it's the concentration levels someone of us have to put in to focus on something that it just seems irritating. I know that I have an issue with people talking when I'm watching something as I can't 'concentrate' enough to hear it. I try not to tell people to talk quieter so it just ends up with me turning the tele up louder haha

When sleeping, background noise is irritating but I do a lot of daydream or focusing in sleeping so I guess the noise disturbs me? Or maybe it generally just annoys me!

I generally have trouble with sudden noises especially if it's quiet and I am intensely concentrating on something. When I was a kid and If I was concentrating on homework and my mum would call me down for dinner I would freak out to the point of screaming my head off! :P I don't like the sound of the phone ringing or the door knocking either. But loud, high pitched noises are the worst for me. Screaming kids are the worst and it makes me want to rip their heads off!

Hahaha yeah I'm exactly the same! The worst for me if someone wants my attention when I'm in the middle of doing something. Then I get distracted, it's so easy for me to forget stuff! #-o
