Hi Charlie,
I'm a 28 yr old woman with possible/undiagnosed dyspraxia, and I'm not sure I can give any useful advice but I wanted to post just to say hi
Online friends are a mixed bag - specialised forums like this have fewer people but they are more likely to be genuine/interested/share some ideas with you. Larger social media like facebook/twitter is fine, but you may need to watch out for idiots, and people can post things that you might find upsetting/offensive (I know I get annoyed by some people).
It can be hard to meet people, but if you can do it in person it may feel more genuine.
Have you considered using any hobbies to meet people? If you don't like drinking/clubs....Do you like music, films, reading, video games? there are groups who meet to discuss a new book/film or knit etc - and this might take away the 'what shall we talk about' fear.
you sound lovely to me, i am sure there will be online and offline friends for you
Helen
