Hi pink sun
Good to hear from you and please don't apologise for anything. You've come to the right place. I've found this forum a lifesaver, quite literally.

I'm 44 and have just been diagnosed with dyspraxia a few months ago. So relieved really because always struggled with practical tasks and organising myself. I used to work in a Pre school. I loved the children but struggled with some of the practical things like making snacks. I wish I'd known about dyspraxia when I was there because I got quite stressed and left.

Have work been supportive? I bet you are very understanding of the children as you'll relate to them when they find things hard to learn. I hope you are getting some support. Have you been in touch with the dyspraxia foundation. My local branch in berkshire have been great. They often have a lot of info.

Don't apologise for the spelling I'm sure no one would be upset and your post is clear to read anyway. I can understand its a shock but it will be a relief in time hopefully as it helps you understand yourself. I find knowing others on here have similar issues has been really helpful.

My dad is dyslexic he's now 70. He struggled a lot wi reading and writing although luckily he is practical and worked as a builder. He has started literacy classes and has done so well. He is writing letters where he used to struggle to write a sentence. It is never too late to learn new things. I struggle more wi practical things but find I'm getting on better since diagnosis and even when things don't go we'll I don't get so frustrated.

Good luck and please keep posting. You'll find people on here really caring and you will Lso help the, by sharing as well. Nicky

Hi Pinksun

Welcome to the forums and as Nickye says don't be afraid to post. I've also found this site to be a great comfort. A lot of us here have struggled (and still do) to various degrees with different things. The sense that you're not alone is a great relief. Don't worry about your spelling. We're a very non judgemental community here.

All the best and feel free to post as much as you want, ask questions offer ideas etc.

kind regards
Tom

Hi again
I wonder if you have seen www.dyspraxiafoundation.org.uk as they have a section of local groups. They seem to cover quite a lot of areas so hope there may be something reasonably near. I've been to a drop in centre in berkshire.
Hope everything goes ok. Nicky

Hi I can't spell either so don't worry about it all.

Im really bad at spelling and actuly I don't care! good spelling is graet and all that and essintial for some jobs, BUT really is a bad speller really going to hurt any body with few spelling mistakes. I dont think so.

Does a bad speller have something unique and important to say to? yes just as much, as a good speller. Brains are amazing even with letters missing, wrong or the wrong way around they still able to recognise the word.
