Dyspraxia and creativity event

Hello

I'm a freelance journalist and writer with dyspraxia and am co-presenting a talk on dyslexia and dyspraxia in the creative industries in London next month (scroll down to March here http://www.ideastap.com/Opportunities/spa)

I'll be talking about the bright side of dyspraxia as well as the challenges, and would love to hear from anyone in the creative/media industries who's happy for me to quote them (anonymously if desired) about the impact of dyspraxia on their creativity.

I'm ideally looking for a few sentences (or stories I can easily sum up in a few sentences)

Hello. I just randomly came accross this post while on an internet search. I am 37, Creative Director in a top London advertising agency and only last week discovered I have a 'learning difficulty of a dyspraxic type'. I am still deducing what this actually means. But now armed with the benefit of hindsight some things are beginning to make sense. All those repetitive feedback comments in my reviews such as really poor diary management or forgetting information, not making notes, articulating ideas badly in presentations, interrupting people mid sentence; it's all falling into place. "...did you not read my email?" "have you got a brian like a sieve?"...well yes actually I have.

On the other hand though, my natural design ability, I have a vivid image based mind, maybe I do think differently? and maybe thats why i'm good at my job? A few people who know me well see the benefit and dismiss my other attributes as known foibles or irritants. I am a creative after all, you know of the those 'creative types' [raises a four finger air quote]

I studied at college and university for creative industries, but have not had much luck with getting my foot in the door within the creative industry, seeming to lack the skills that everyone wants, although I have had the chance to do one freelance job. Not sure if I'd be of any help or not!
