I was just wondering if this was a dyspraxic thing or just a me thing.
I have a lot of trouble sleeping in the same bed/room as another person. I'm relatively OK (as long as I don't wake up) if I have gone to bed before the other person and it has been a few hours. If we go to bed at the same time or if thy went to bed before me then it is an issue. I have a lot of trouble getting to sleep, every time they move or make a noise it is all I can think about and then I can't help but wait for the next thing they do. If the person moves it is like the whole bed moves and like someone has jumped on it (I even got the same thing when OH's dog slept on the bed and he was tiny). I don't know, it's like the vibrations go through me and I feel a bit motion sick. If someone makes a noise it is like it echoes through the room and is really loud.
Just wondering if I am the only one who gets this or if anyone else does is there anything you do to make it easier?
Yeah, I have to say it irritated me and I had to go and sleep in another bed. Trouble is I also get very hot and having another body in the bed generating heat adds to the discomfort.
Yep, it gets me too. I wake up at every little thing and feel that I can't go to sleep until they are asleep. Then I feel as if my space is being invaded if they move and get irritated with it all.
But I have to say, if you love the person, it is a darn sight easier and actually quite enjoyable. I found it calmed my dyspraxia when this was the case.
Hello...
I have this problem too! I go into flight mode and I'm on the toilet every three quarters of an hour. I've had psychotherapy and hypnotherapy, but it didn't work. I'm sensitive to my personal space. It's impossible to sleep even with drugs.
