Hello and Thanks

Post by Shealagh »

Hello

I have made the step to join this site in the hope that it will help my husband. I feel a little self conscious as it is only very recently that we identified that he was quite probably Dyspraxic (although I have suspected it for a while now) and we are awaiting an assessment as he has already visited his GP and she confirmed that there was certainly cause to think that he is. Although this could take some time we are fairly certain that the diagnosis will be positive and even though the extent is not known the symptoms seem to speak for themselves. The relief that he feels also suggests that this is most likely the case.

Many of the posts on this site have already been of enormous help and I would like to thank you for the help your insights have been in helping me cope with this revelation and which have already benefited my husband as I have been able to pass them on to him (he is very shy about talking about personal stuff but I am hoping to encourage him to join this site soon). Things are already starting to improve for him with the benefit of understanding how hard he has struggled with the difficulties he faces and why they have always seemed so insurmountable untill now.

Many Thanks
Shealagh

Hi Shealagh. I'm so glad your husband has someone who wants to understand and support him with his dyspraxia. If he wants to post on this forum, he will find people who are keen to help in whatever way they can :)

Hello and welcome, I'm very new here too and have already found the place to be very helpful. Like your husband I'm also very shy and it helps to talk anonymously, there's things I just don't like talking about with people I know.
