Just a question I thought about that some feedback would be gratefull from.
So are we as dyspraxicis deluded and by deffitionition can't see the reality of things and belive somthing else other than the truth.
From my experance I think its easy for us to become deluded when somthing issent explaned corectly as it could seam like one thing when achulie it is another. - This is often not helped as I take things so littery and cant see the other meanings of things and what is really going on.

Re: Are dyspraxic's deluded?
Definitely! My friend and I have had arguments over it, it is so easy to get the wrong end of the stick1
Re: Are dyspraxic's deluded?
How do you define delusional?
I'm not sure we can be any more deluded from the next man or woman. delusion being a false belief or impression, or a vain hope. maybe some of us are more susceptible but maybe we need hopes to cling too. We're fortunately a long way from being preachers of hate!

Re: Are dyspraxic's deluded?
I would say you can be more gullible at times and maybe easily persuaded or deceived by other people.
Re: Are dyspraxic's deluded?
Delusional - beliving somthing that you see as true even though there is blatent evedence and prof that its not the case or diffrent to what you belive.Tom fod wrote:How do you define delusional?

I guess we can be subetable to it as things can easley be mis-understood or clinging to somthing that we think is good when achulie it isent at all but that can't be seen.
There has been cases with me when I don't realise somthing (a lot of this a down to lack of awareness) but it can get to a point when i think things are fine with a aspect when achulie it really isent.

Re: Are dyspraxic's deluded?
Your question comes from an unprovable premise . What is truth ? Is there an ultimate reality for us to perceive ?
Certainly a Dyspraxic from medical point of view could be said to lack some sensory input simply due to the condition affecting the area of the brain that receives sensory and processes it into information .

Always good to question these things mind
. In Hinduism reality as we know it is called Maya (or Illusion ) this is destroyed in some methods by the awaking of the third eye of Shiva which gives us the ability to perceive the Brahman force . But thats just one method/metaphor for helping you perceive things
Re: Are dyspraxic's deluded?
From my experience no I don't think so. Deluded might not be the right word to describe it. I'm very sensitive, anxious and worry because I do this more often, people who aren't as anxious or worry may wonder what an earth i'm talking about but that doesn't make me deluded just makes it harder for them to understand exactly what I mean, where i'm taking it from and so forth.
Re: Are dyspraxic's deluded?
I don't think we're deluded, we just misunderstand what we see or hear sometimes. I find it hard to work out if people are serious or not, or if they're just venting. I worry a lot about other people - they think I'm very caring, I think I'm mad! I'm a room leader where I work with four staff and I drive myself nuts worrying about work, if parents and staff are OK etc. I have no problems with the kids, though! They don't care what I'm like and what they say is what they mean!
