Nintendo DSI brain train

Post by Nick1971 »

Does anyone out there use the Nintendo DSI brain train ames console to help with their dyspraxia. If you do, does it help with your working memory and co-ordination?

I'm thinking of investing in this and need some advice and help here.

Thank you

I think it's important to recognise that "brain training" does not necessarily improve cognitive function in the way you think it might. Unlike doing weights to increase the size or strength of your biceps (or whatever), these 'games' make you practice a specific activity.

It is these practice effects which improve your performance on, rather than specifically developing a mental capacity or increase any sort of brain development.
