Hi, I'm Emma, Dutch, dyspraxic, possibly autistic and 20 years old. I have tried to introduce myself to this forum before, but I feel like I may have done it the wrong way. I hope that this time I am doing it the right way. I actually have a lot of questions but I will try to stick to the ones that have been with me a long time. First, is dyspraxia hereditary? Second, does it develop over time (I feel like mine may have gotten worse)? Third, is it normal to sometimes feel like you don't know how to react to a situation when you're dyspraxic, to feel sort of lost in (social) translation?
I hope someone will be able to help me.
Thank you in advance.
I'm new and need help?

Dyspraxia is not necicarily hereditary though it can often be so if you look at other family members you can often see similarities. The thing is as people get older they often compensate or people are so used to the things that they do that they don't really notice.
It doesn't get worse over time but things like stress can make it worse. When I'm tired and stressed I have a lot more accidents.
Lots of people with dyspraxia have poor pragmatics. Here is some info on pragmatics.

If it makes you feel any better I'm still poor but am a lot better than I used to be....lots and lots of practice, copying from other people, watching people, getting advice, etc.
HOpe that helps you get started.
