Tremors, Twitches, Disrupted Sleep

Post by Virginia123 »

Hello all.
I haven't visited the site for a number of years. I'm a mother. Does anyone have - and not as a side affect of medication - tremors or twitching of the toes, fingers, possibly arms and legs which are particularly felt when at rest and especially when you need to relax and keep you from sleeping? Does anyone feel the need to make throaty grunt like noises? Also, does anyone - and this is difficult to describe--make puzzles with your eyes - not so somone could notice - like drawing little horizontal lines on a page in a pattern until the pattern is complete?

Thank you for your time

I twitch and jerk loads, more so if I've not eaten much or havent had my Phosphate replacements. Have you noticed a particular pattern to the twitches? Do they just affect limbs like arms and legs or do they affect your abdomen or head or owt?

It is pretty normal to twitch and jump about at night and have toes or fingers moving on thier own it seems but sometimes it's something more. Maybe you could visit your GP and let him know about these twitches and tremors. If they dont happen all the time then maybe do a mental check next time it happens to see if, or when you last ate. Sometimes lack of certain things in foods, like Phosphate/phosphorus in my case, can cause other problems that come with twitching. Other times the twitches can be a symptom of another problem, but it's better to get it checked out as it can put your mind at ease if it worries you.

You could of course be getting restless leg syndrome which affects alot of people by all accounts and it's relatively harmless, just annoying and frustrating, but it can also affect other limbs like arms etc too. You could try a diary when you notice these things happening more...Like what you ate, how you slept that night or the night before, if you've any pain or pins and needles anywhere at the time it happens etc etc

Whatever you may try I hope you can sort it out or find out whats causing it and that it's nothing that cannot be treated or managed properly. Please let me know how you get on.

I have hand tremors and twitches which makes it really difficult to do anything even slightly fiddly, it also make people ask me why I'm so nervous all the time, I've become very good at hiding though so most the time people don't even notice.
