Well a good phone for use to have is the HTC desire or similar system 1 ) it has the sense option that means you can use your laptop to call it even if you cant find it 2) Its a smart phone .
Basically your looking at finding methods (in everyday live) that fit you . I volunteer on an adult advice line , and being Dyspraxic myself , theres a few basic's
1) Relax , learn to find your own centre and self , meditation , security blanket whatever . It must work for you
2) Don;t be afraid to ask for help , from GP , from mental health peopel , OT's people on here (and youve done great in asking us )
3) You are you , no matter what some one else tells you you can only operate and be yourself , you cannot be wrong in who you are.
4) Experiment
Hope it helps pm or repost on here
all the best

I got diagnosed at five, so that's 15 years i've had it in total. I find using my mobile to be most helpful actually, keep your phone on loud ALWAYS, if this affects work/studying then tell your boss/lecturer that you need it for your dyspraxia and they should let you have it on.
My organisation is pretty -rubbish- to say the least, and it probably always will be.
A really good tip for me was to stickytape daily -things to do- lists on my bedroom door. Except sometimes I don't notice it.
If you need to remember something on the go, e-mail yourself what you need to do before you forget and check your emails regularly so you can remember what you wanted to do.
It is usually more common to get diagnosed young, but people can be misdiagnosed or just be seen as a loner child, or someone with bad co-ordination. It doesn't mean anything bad that you got a late diagnosis. It's nothing to worry about.

I was 25 when I got diagnosed Busy Bee - 21 is far from the oldest diagnosis we've had on here!busy_bee wrote:thanks im going to look into the phone.Do you know if it is normal to get to 21 and then be diagnosed ?
Have you tried a personal organiser, like a filofax or something you could keep in a bag with you? It may be a lot of paper, but it's all in one place, and you could keep lists and 'to do' stuff in there, as well as recording stuff you have to do on a daily basis... Less loseable than a phone normally, and you're more likely to get it returned to you if you do lose it!

I was diagnosed at 21...there were rumblings at school when I was little from staff who were concerned about me but nothing was ever followed up and I sought the diagnosis myself at university due to various factors.
