Hi my name is Anna, I'm 37 and was diagnosed with dyspraxia or 'clumsy child syndrome' as it was called then when I was 9, I also suffer with epilepsy. At that time they mainly focused on my gross motor difficulties running, inability at throwing or catching a ball etc. I had pretty much given up by then, I just tried MY best and didn't care what any body else did. I think I realsied that philosophy by about 6 after my first sports day - I got upset at losing once - never again.
Nobody ever mentioned or connected all my other problems with dyspraxia! It wasn't until I was surfing the net 2/3weeks ago that I came across a dyspraxia link and found all the other symptons.I then realised everything else that I have difficulties with now or have had in the past are due to dyspraxia. Very frustrating that not even my teacher training lecturers noticed that I had a problem with dyspraxia!
On the positive side I can now see that my daughters problems are definately dyspraxia and so although

the school is definately giving her all the help I will be discussing it with them to try and make her school career a more positive experience, i know it won't be easy but at least I know what she's going through.
