attention spans/concentration

when i sit in a class if iam doing training or when i used to be at school or college i couldnt concentarte for long periods of time i got easierly distracted every time somthing moved it always made me think what was that plus i get really bad writing cramp and my handwriting is still quite poor anyone else have this problem?

with me this depends because when I'm really interested in something no
but other times I get distracted more easily - if I'm in a group and there are a lot of different things going on / conversations I often find it difficult to keep track of what everyones saying / struggle when to give input and worry about interupting others

Like you I also get distracted by things going on elsewhere and noise as well I also find it difficult to concentrate for long periods of time like if I had a full days training my concentration would get worse as the day went on and i'd feel tired at the end of it !

iam glad iam not the only one then i remember i was in a constuction class once every little but of noise i heard i continuiously looked around thinking what was that

I have trouble concentrating when there are a great many noises at once. Also, if I don't like the class I generally do not pay attention very well. I'm interrupting a lot and stuff too. I kind of have a short attention span when it comes to like if I am reading a book or something if it is a long book, I have the urge to look ahead sometimes. I don't want to spend all that time reading it, but then I have not done this with some very long books (such as the "Harry Potter" series) so I think it all depends on how much time I have and what the book is. Sorry for the run-on sentence. I think I get distracted from my tasks very easily.

when i was in school i was VERY easily distracted and college i would listen for a few seconds then start drawing and my tutor asked me what she was talking about and i didnt know and she thought i was being rude so i went on the net and showed her the symtoms then she apolgised. i also have ADD. im still like that now....... and i cant cope with loud noise

i couldnt stand like noises everytime someone moved iam like what was that constantly looking round the room when i was at school now iam a lifeguard its got better but still sometimes iam still like what was that

I can get easily distracted if I'm watching tv and someone walks by the set.
I need to concentrate on doing one thing at a time and am no good at multitasking.

iam not bad at multitasking as long as the tasks are explained properly so i can understand them sometimes i remember what i have to do then 3 secs later i forget it and have to ask again what the task was

I am fine at concentrating but i have to work alone without distractions, like I have my personal ipod on so that i don't thear the constant fast typing of the girl next door to me in the office and it's the same for writing in exams it takes me ages to start off writing but i get used to it my writing either gets messy and jumbled up or just write pages and pages without realising the time. Some days its like knocking my head against a brick wall I also find it hard to concentrate on quiz programmes like the weakest link or the deadly knowledge show but i can watch a drama or long film for hours without even realising it.

even the sligtist noise puts me off if iam rteally trying to concentrate and i cant by noise also if i want to read the paper quietly if iam out i found myself having to move serveral times just to get quiet so i can concentrate in reading the paper.

Funnily enough I am the opposite to that. I can watch a quiz show, but usually soon loose interest in films and dramas.

It also depends on the film or drama if it's something interested like a crime drama or film or something medical then I am definitely interested but it's something boring or film I have seen before I just switch over. I also find that I end up missing the big films of year like Twilight and New Moon because either my friends have seen it before or they are not interested in it or haven't read the books yet. So I miss the excitement.
