Hi there what aspects of the course are particularly troubling you? Practicalities of CPR or remembering all the steps in the right order. How long have you been looking at your revision and given it is/was Saturday evening I think you need to take a break to focus on something less scary and more enjoyable.

If you really can't break away just now, what would you say if you were called in to reassure yourself. You're a caring person and you want to do the right thing and you can do this. Have you tried watching You Tube videos

'm still surprised I passed when I did Public First Aid at college in 1992 and that was not a first aid at work course and I must admit I'd be even more scared by paediatric First Aid. The whole idea of the training is so you can make mistakes in a safe environment so you can remember better what to do if the real thing occurred.

Try this quiz
https://www.highspeedtraining.co.uk/hub ... -aid-quiz/
I bet you get more than 2 out of 5 on first go.

This one is more challenging but I passed by making educated guesses

Invisible,
It really sound as though you've been traumatized by having failed at previous endeavors. My guess is that most of us, if not all of us, have been traumatized by our failures in life. I know I have. The response in trauma is flight, fight, or freeze. I know that sometimes when I encounter a situation in which I begin to feel traumatized, I freeze. My brain just freezes and it's like it's being totally eclipsed .So, words, directions, instinct just go right through me and I am unable to process the information. You might consider seeing a trauma specialist. In the US, they are quite expensive, I don't know if they are available to you via the NHS. You can also try reading Francine Shapiro's books on trauma to get a better understanding of what is going on with you when this happens, what the triggers are, and when and where it first began, as well as what the underlying self cognitions are.
I think for most of us it's those old self cognitions that popped up whenever we were unable to grasp something as kids, and the attitudes and words that came from those around us including teachers and other kids. I know that's true for me anyway. Make use of whatever resources are available to you. I wish you all the best.

Thank you so much I really appreciate this.it may sound drastic but I'm thinking of going into a Samaritans branch just to talk to someone who doesn't know me .I last went two years ago when was in a drastic situation and speaking to a complete stranger face to face really helped .I just know I can't go on like this for another week x
