I have a job 2
Moderator: Moderator Team
I finished at this training provider on the 26th Jan
I never got a placement, but I did picked up one or two things which I might have missed if I was on placement, which will be useful when applying for future jobs
I have been in touch which one or two employment agencies and email an up to date copy of my CV

Job search is still going well - emailed my CV to a couple of other agencies (well an update one) I have applied for an admin job with another employment agency on-line which looks okay
I am seeing a Disability Employment Advisor later this month again, hopefully this time it will work out better - as I have not seen him for a while
I am still going to college part-tme (drop in) gaining some more IT qualifications (Microsoft Office Specialist) at the moment I am doing Access -

I applied for another job this weekend, I would like to stay away from companies I have worked for before - most of the ones I have sent to via employment agencies have been poor and was not really supportive enough
I would like the next job to last more than six months and would be suitable for me - The job will come soon

The job hunt is still going pretty slowly.
I have wrote to a company today - without getting into too much of an arguement this is not my first choice of company, even though there are rated with a postive about disabled people logo
I had an interview with the same company last year for another job but the needed someone with strong and clear communication skills and a strong/prof telephone skills

Was quite usefully seening this person (even though it was quite probing at times - took her a while to get more information out of me), she has given me a idea of seeing someone else, who may be able to help
Job search still going slowly - getting to be a bit of a pain in the head
I am applying for a job, I do not think this is really suitable for me as I applied for the same job last year, but at least I have some proof
I have been really struggling to find something suitable over the last nine months (and not had paid work for 15 months) I have only find a handful of suitable jobs, all through employment agencies what matches most of my skills and have applied for.
Apart from one or two which I applied for, but I think both were unsuitable but I getting fed up with the pressure something will come along soon - I am trying my hardest but people usually do not understand me
I will keep on searching, the job is round the corner, just looking for the right company

Being carefully what I typed
I have email and applied for 4 jobs via an employment agencies
I seem to be going round in cricles at the moment, it may not be good enough for some people but at least I am trying my hardest to try and find something which I will probably stick at and I will hopefully not be let down again

I think one main thing is probably explaining what is dyspraxia to companies.
Another thing are the skills I have to offer the company (level and abilities I have
One or two people have say I am not really good at selling myself - I admit I am not a confident person and do try my hardest if I get an interview (I suppose the place where I went last week was an interview)

Are you requesting from the recruiters that any potential employer makes allowances for your dyspraxia or that the jobs you're offered don't include areas you feel difficult?
I've only mentioned dyspraxia in a job application for the first time in a job app I sent off a couple of days ago as they had a disability section so I thought I might as well use it as far as a potential interview is concerned as I'm terrible at thinking on my feet to come up with answers and examples for their questions and I'm bad at being able to remember the questions I wanted to ask. There was an option whereby they'd interview anyone with a disability whose application met the minimum requirements for the job but I preferred to see if I got an interview entirely on the strength of my application as if they don't think I've got what it takes on paper it will probably work out as a wasted trip - and it would be quite a trip to get to an interview.
As regards selling yourself - this is also an area I find difficult. It's easy to quickly compile a list in your mind of things you can't do, but you have to consider that there's probably a lot of people applying with little clue and even fewer skills and intelligence and in many cases you can have a decent shot at the job. Remember if you do get to an interview stage then you and everyone else they're interviewing has met the basic criteria they're looking for so it's a matter then to sell yourself from scratch as it were, making sure you tick the boxes they're looking for.
Keep us posted with your progress,
Dan.

I have requested at employment agencies and any on-line websites which recruited may used that the jobs for potential employers at the company do not included the areas that I feel difficult to do
Over the weekend I am filling out a form for a employment agency which deals with people who have a disability or who are disabled to help them get paid work, whether this is a placement and part/full time work but which could be useful

I was unfortunately not sucessfully however this agency always email me 99% of the time for any jobs I applied for which is good
I have applied for quite a few others jobs via employment agencies over the last few days and I have email a couple of other employment agencies and sent them reminders
