Sorry not online

Post by Shadwell »

Hi all,

sorry my messages have been few and far between at the moment. but got cut off by AOL from BT back on the 10th of last month, but still waiting for my router, laptop, and internet connection with AOL. (now over 2 months since ordering it!!)

why is it when you need internet connection most, it is always off?!!

yeah, I did it weekly, latest update they given me was that there was a problem with my phoneline, so they wouldn't send the router for another 2 weeks.

so went down to town last friday to sign up with TalkTalk instead, so should be back online around 2nd September.

so hopefully be happy then.

I've had loads of problems getting the flat and broadband sorted out in my flat. It should be simple, but there seem to be plenty of people who can attest to it not always being so.

yeah aol given me every excuse under the sun, including there is a problem with my phoneline after like 2 months of waiting, even though I had been with BT for broadband, and now with TalkTalk, (back online yahoo!!)

even if I am paying more to get the laptop. now it is just going to be a problem getting my money back out of them for the services they didn't provide like the free laptop (delivery charge). and internet access.

I think it was a case of can't, and don't want to with AOL otherwise they wouldn't have left me without internet access. as to have 2 internet providers at the same location, same phoneline, and equipment, then it was only AOL holding everything up to see how much money they can steal out of peoples accounts before it is stopped, or certainly felt like it!!

anyway hope everyone is well, and life not going too pair shaped since I was last properly online.

and it is great having the inter-net back after so long (2 months and 16 days), even if it is only on the laptop as the 2 pc's have decided to have fatal crashing errors (I think it is the shock from not having internet access for so long!!)

hope to write some more soon

I know I am back again, just doesn't seem like enough hours in the day these days.

well had a lot going on in my life, with not being very well between September, and Christmas, then had to look after my parents cats while they were away down under for 4 and a half weeks, then they had the one cat put down due to Felion Infection (nearly 3 weeks ago), the same day I got myself a car, so I could get out more (big mistake!!), then a week ago last Thursday my parents got another cat, which had been rescued, as it was living in the woods during this years snow, plus the way she looks (duffed me up), then she has been abused as well, as she doesn't like, or warns you away from touching her right shoulder.

so been helping them to bring her out of her shell for the passed week and a bit, and now I am happy with her, she has really started to become herself around us, and becoming part of the family, there again, I could see from the journey after getting her, that she wanted someone to trust, and talk to her, and the way she would watch me, and the other cat play,

and been a pretty long process in getting her to trust us, like the first day wasn't too bad, apart from we were telling her to get off one of the work tops that she wasn't supposed to be on, not nastily, as how was she supposed to know without us saying? so then she more or less hid in the cat climbing frame for most of 2 days, and only coming out for food, or when my parent's and brother were asleep.

but got her to trust me again, by little chats every now and again, as anything longer and she would turn vicious. enough to grab your hand with her claws, and try to bite, or give a warning nip.

so at best we could hope for was 1-2 minutes a time with her, and then leave her for a few seconds, and then reassure her. but all the persistance, and being gental with her is starting to pay off, like the passed 3 days she has been coming out, and having her food at tea time, coming through to the kitchen to join us, claiming about the only window sill with anything left on it!! even if it did mean wrapping herself around a few plant pots!

and she has decided she likes me the best out of everyone, as I asked her if she wanted to have some fish (chippy) with us, and she joined us, and sat behind my chair. and not the first time either.

so yes kind of had my hands full with that, seeing friends, and trying to problem solve problems on my car. not only that, but trying to cope with day to day chores, and the i-net has more or less taken a back burner because of it all.

From my experience with my rescue cat.....Expect about 6 months of having your hands scratched or bitten until your cat gets used to being handled and used to you. After that period you will find you get the occassional scratch or bite.....
