I'm not Irish but know we have people from there though my wishes were late if you go by Forum time.
There is a school of thought that a young St Patrick was picked up from the banks of the Severn and transported to Ireland as a slave, so it could be claimed he was from Gloucestershire. St George was from what is now modern day Turkey

Not at all in my book! St Patricks Day has been commercialised like a lot of other tings to be sure so it has. Fer Fecks sake! Or in Vorest of Dean' Glos vernacular: It chunt right mind!
