Should this forum have a paralell Facebook Group?

Should this forum have a paralell Facebook Group?

Aware there are some disadvantages as this forum offers a degree of anonymity and not everyone likes or is on FB.

Could this idea draw in new active members to rejuvenate this platform or could it sound death knell?

Thoughts and opinions please?

I’d be part of it.

I have no problem being open about my dyspraxia

I left FB and closed account.

Why can't you have a private chatroom on the site like some other sites have?

Hi Susan
Good point not everyone is on Faceache!

I can look into the idea. I think that maybe that feature was not integrated when site was set up in 2006. Possibly for reasons of cost and how it would be moderated/managed.

I've participated in a group video chat using Zoom (other platforms/apps exist) which was organised by Pete from Dyspraxia and Life so maybe we could do that.

I prefer to type I have speech problems. I also have autism and due to this have auditory processing disorder so struggle with processing speech and facial expressions, particuarly with strangers. Also with time lag on video (my BB slow) it's impossible to lip read/understand signs.

I don’t know if anything like the old msn messenger exists anymore, but if it does it could potentially be a more cost effective way to have live text chat.

Ultimately, if you wanted to. You could have both. A FB presence (perhaps with a closed group) and a chat room type thing to include the non facebookers.

Sounds like a good idea to me.
