Dyspraxia Foundation Website: We need your help

Post by Etheldreda » Thu Mar 21, 2019 12:28 am

The Dyspraxia Foundation is finally getting a new website. Pete Guest & I (Lindsey Hall) have agreed with the Dyspraxia Foundation to liaise with fellow adult dyspraxics, to make positive suggestions for the adult pages of the Dyspraxia Foundation website. We will be doing this in a voluntary capacity, ie. unpaid. We don't work for Dyspraxia Foundation & aren't beholden to them. We are both members of the Dyspraxia Foundation.

If you like to make any suggestions, please either comment on this forum or e-mail me: millieandmollie@yahoo.com We need to receive any suggestions by the end of April 2019.

Thank you.

Hi and thanks for including us

I'm lucky enough that I've been in continuous employment for a number of years so it's been some years since I set foot in a job centre. I think the following points and questions are worth going on the DFs website.

Looking fot Work
How can I get Jobcentre + staff to understand and appreciate my needs and difficulties
What help can I find /access via Jobcentre +
(Know Pete of Dyspraxia and life has been asked by DWP to produce something for DWP staff awareness)
What about Access to Work? How do I/my prospective/existing employer get assistance
What other resources and organisations can help (Shaw Trust Scope Etc )
What should I do if I am struggling at work and fear that my employer is looking for ways to dismiss me or force my resignation?

More info on psychological impact of dyspraxia and how to talk about it and where best sources of help can be found and accessed in current climate.

Do you mind If I post a link to this thread in some of the closed Dyspraxia groups I contribute to on Facebook?)
