I had a stressful upbringing, a lot of screaming and violence
Now I’m an adult, obv I don’t behave that way myself, but I can’t help but wonder is that the reason why I have dyspraxia.
I find it hard to belive I was born with it
Just something I’ve been thinking about and wondered what others think
Could dyspraxia be caused by stress?

I do not believe that. I think being misunderstood consequent on dyspraxia contributes to stress.

It’s incredibly difficult to know as Dyspraxia is very wide ranging but I suspect Dyspraxia shapes stress... more than stress shapes Dyspraxia.

It's generally considered to be caused by impaired development in the womb. Your environment and experiences while growing up will likely have also shaped how you see and react to certain situations.

No. General cognitive ability is impaired by stress, some of the symptoms of which could mimic any condition, but no dyspraxia is not caused by stress
