bad day today!

Post by Crofty »

Hey ppl,

Just been down to doctor today, make me feel like crap more than when I woke up.
Finally agreed to putting me back on anti depressants, fluoxetine, 20mg, one a day, so thats a start,

as for being referred to psychologist, well...... he forgot he saw me few weeks before, when he checked his records, there was no record of me even seeing him whatsoever. thats when he claimed that the surgery's computers all crashed, losing all patient information and notes for that day.

The previous surgery I was at, can't be arsed to send the medical records over so the surgery I am at now have no information on my medical history,

he agreed to re refer me to a psychologist, as I printed off the civil service dyspraxia test and answered it with 16 yes answers, 12 needed to get the ball rolling.
thats when he dropped the bomb, a two year wait to see a psychologist in darlington alone,

told wife and she has said we will pay for the test ourselves then, I feel so crap, I am just wondering whats the point of carrying on with life if these dmanright bloody ignorant nhs officials can't be bothered with us.

make matters worse, every doctor in our surgery aint even english, they are either german, dutch or swedish, so some of em look at us blankly as if to call us liars or think we are faking our illnesses to get what medication we want, grrrr.

Hi crofty, sorry to hear things are so crap for u lately, hang in there cause things have a habit of suddenly getting better.
I googled the civil service dyspraxia test you mentioned and was pretty annoyed to find it to be honest. I work for the civil service, they know I am dyspraxic as I put it on my application forms, and noone has ever mentioned the site to me. Grrrr. I knew the civil service was crap to work for. Least I only have 3 weeks left there.
Wish I could offer you more support today but it's Monday and its as rubbish as a Monday usually is, so I aint exactly full of happy thoughts myself today!
I get knocked down, but I get up again, you're never ever gonna keep me down :D

Sorry to hear you had such a crap time at the GP....

How do you find the antidepressents when you first take them, after not being on them for a while? I always find the first 1-4 weeks make you feel 100% worse then when you started them... before things start to get better...

The NHS have to offer you a choice of four locations to see a specialist. Might be worth ringing around your area and asking what the waiting times are and going back to your GP and asking them to refer you to the one with the shortest waiting times... I do not know the area so do not know what the choices would be... I had my test done in London and I only waited two months...

If the doctors are calling you a liar and faking it (sorry that is not ment personaly...) I would make a complaint against them... I know that is easier said then done when you have depression as it is the last thing you feel like doing...
Drama is life with the dull bits cut out...

The civil service test was found on a posting here,

think it was in the assessment bit, one of them links.

other thing is, today I had email back from this lady, mary colley or whatever her name was again, she was or sounded a bit shocked by my story and has said she will do what she can to help me out,

thats a good thing,

i'll keep you posted
