Hair and make up

I know this question may seem a bit strange but how do you do your hair and make up? For my make up I can apply foundation and powder but any more than that I find very difficult. I can sometimes put mascara on but I find it very hard and often make a mess or end up stabbing myself in the eye. I am a Performing Arts student and I am often expected to do my own stage make up and it's something that I want to learn to do.

I find styling my hair almost impossible. I can tie it back but not very neatly and I can't do plaits or any other hair styles. It gets tangled quite easily so it's quite difficult to look after. My mum helps me a lot but I'm going to uni in september so I need to learn how to do these things for myself. If you have any tips or advice for me please let me know. Thanks!
