I'll be going to a neighbour's house to bring the bells in, then I'm coming straight back home to go to bed, I can't stay up late for the life of me, plus I have no ambitions to see my mum get plastered and my dad having to carry her home. It'll be a goo night though, but I'm starting the celebrations somewhat early, mum needs a stiff drink I think after my wee brother decided to have an accident in his brand new car [-X.

Edit:actually I don't know if I can even be bothered going tonight, mum's annoying me by being alll quietly angry and not being able to get it out of her system, which is making her seem slightly depressed and that's bugging me beyond belief. Besides she wants me to wear a belt that is diffcult to get on or off a pair of jeans and won't take no for an answer and have you seen the weather up here? No I'd much rather stay in and watch telly al night, but I'm not oging to be allowed to since mum'll just accuse me of being alll anti-social ](*,).

Happy New Year everyone. We had a quiet one here. Popped through to the cinema at Ambleside to see Casino Royale, had a meal and back home for a respectable seeing in of the New Year watching a particularly mediocre programme on BBC 1 which was redeemed only by the impressive London fireworks display. The sound tech for the live music will likely find himself in the queue at the jobcentre tomorrow, however.

I think it's completely uncalled for that the unions representing the workers of these companies which are providing a public service after all (whether they are profit making or not) see it fit to inconvenience the travelling public by arranging strikes to coincide with public holidays. If they want to make a point to their employers, fine, but don't do it at a time that will spoil so many people's Christmas or New Year. I understand that these are probably profitable times for the likes of Central Trains but p*ssing the general public off in such a way is hardly going to garner support to their cause.

I realise this is off-top to the thread but it really does peeve me!

Actually I disagree, personally inconvenienced though I was, I think that high impact striking is important. If unions feel they can only strike when it'll have little-no impact then there's essentially no means of protest that's worth a damn. This becomes even more important for services which are vital all of the time, as was the case with the fire service strikes not that long ago.

please excuse the lateness of this reply! I been busy replying to other posts as only joined this afternoon!

for me, then think I will write more new replies this year!

what else I got planned is to do my wagon driving test for the 3rd time, as dyspraxia got in the way with the other 2!

and seeing if there is anything I can do about my balance, as it is getting a lot worse. anyone tried using a wobble board? is it worth investing in one?

I want real answers, not people they decide to pick! please give your answers soon as thinking of ordering one on tuesday
