I knew that I had dyspraxia in 2002.

I only observed the information on childhood dyspraxia.

The N.H.S was useless on adult dyspraxia.

I received a diagnosis in May 2012,privately aged 33

Three or four here, it was at least very early and I only have fleeting random memories of the time.

Thanks to being in special needs at an early age I always knew I was "different" even if I didn't know exactly what it was until later in life.

In general I doubt I'd be as well off as I am now if I didn't have that early support. Having that support taken away from me before my SATS & GCSEs was difficult enough.

I was treated differently by other Children, but I think that would have happened whether I received special needs assistance or not as kids generally pick on the ones they perceive as weaker than them.

I always tried to cope regardless of the circumstance or my awareness of it anyway. In many ways I sometimes coped too well, because the better you appear to cope the less open other people are to accepting that you have a diffculty.

I wasn't diagnosed until I was 38.

It might have saved both my family and me a lot of anguish if it had been earlier, but the knowledge just wasn't around at that time.

I was about 5 ,it took them 2 years to figure out I had dyspraxia. White coats wanted to use me for test's, to further on the research of dyspraxia. At first they signed me of as severely handicapped. one specialist stood up and told the others, that it might be something else; So they prolonged the examination and research.

In the mid 80s , dyspraxia research was little to none in canada. So specialist was quit puzzled. Even have couple of chapters on a book, specailist used me for when they examined me for those 2 years for thesis write ups .

Did anybody here, had that intense treatment ;when the specialists were puzzled or almost gave up on you??

Today I's better I recon, cuz of all the gadgets and Internet . specialists can share around the globe thesis studies better.

Mum dragged me to all manner of different specialists and even a homeopath who knew how to field strip an Uzi. I felt like a medical curiosity at times too, though I perhaps don't feel as scarred by it now. The feelings of being set apart are not good for ones psychological wellbeing/self esteem.

Was probably formally diagnosed by an Educational Psychologist in late 80s but did not learn what it all meant untill 2010/11
