Tinitus & chineese medicine

I don't know if any of you have tinitus...I am going to get my ears checked to see if there is any other damage and to see if they can help with the tinitus....but I found out today that there is some kind of thing they do in chineese medicine where they roll up a bit of paper and put it in your ear. It burns down and sucks out all of the air in your ear canal and then it fixes the problem or something. Has anyone ever heard of this? Do they know anyone who has done ? id it work?
