Non-verbal intelligence

Post by firemonkey » Thu Jun 14, 2018 1:22 pm

A significant VIQ-PIQ or PIQ-VIQ gap is a red flag for what Americans call a learning disability(UK learning difficulty) . Most such people are of average or above intelligence so it does not imply that such people are stupid. Indeed it is possible to be gifted and have a learning difficulty/disability.

In the US, learning disability means there is a 'marked discrepancy' i.e. the person's intelligence in normal or above average, but their is one subject category such as arithmetic where there is a cognitive deficit
