Post by Chelsea10 »

Hi all,

Im Chelsea 25 years old diagnosed with Dyspraxia, i have a wonderful 5 year old girl who may also be suffering with it and im currently 31 weeks pregnant with my son. Growing up was constant struggles of people understanding what was wrong and pointing me in the right direction, daily things was a struggle p.e interacting and general multi tasking and coordination. At present im signed off sick due to suffering with spd in pregnancy (pain in pelvis) my doctor recently refused to sign my sick notes as i had missed a midwife appointment and didnt attend physio, (i was advised by midwife physio will not see you untill 28ish weeks) plus the physio is fully booked and id have to wait for an appointment, i explained to the receptionist that i have been up and down atleast once a week due to my pregnancy (baby has clubfoot) so im under a specialist and iv just been diagnosed as having gestational diabetes, my doctor in now in India for 2 weeks and i need to make an appointment to see another doctor to get my sick notes signed other wise i dont gwt paid from work, problem is doctors dont understand dyspraxia and dont understan keeping up with appointments is quite difficult for me an sometimes i feel under pressure when it comes to so many appointments in one go my mind goes to mush. Please can someone give me advice on what i can do?? ](*,)

From what I can understand (I'm a man) your reason for being confused n missing the appointment(s) was genuine. Hopefully whichever doctor you see will sign you off. It might be helpful to write down what you want to say and/or take a relative/friend along if possible.
Hope this helps
