My name is Claire and I have a little girl aged 7 (almost eight) who has finally got a diagnosis of Dyspraxia. I can't pretend I wasn't upset at first but i am finding this site a huge help into understanding it as opposed to the textbook type descriptions of it. The biggest thing that struck me though is how varied everyones dyspraxia is which I suppose is why it can take a while to get a firm diagnosis.
Anyway my daughter is coping okay and hopefully now we understand it will do even better now. She gets frustrated at times but now we know why and can try and encourage her more. She gets nervous in new situations but settles after a few sessions at for eg, swimming or dancing.
Hope you all dont mind me nosing at your posts from time to time and asking questions is I need to
