Hi All!
I'm new here and I'd like to introduce myself. I'm a 26 year old woman living in Massachusetts (USA). I am a 3rd and 4th grade special education teacher. I was born at 25 weeks gestation and suffered 3 brain hemorrhages. My whole life I've struggled with "everyday tasks". Everything was just so hard for me. I thought though that was the way it was supposed to be. I compensated incredibly well for everything. I feel that the ability to compensate is both a blessing and a curse. Because I never realized how impaired I really am. But as I've gotten older I've seen that life is not supposed to be this way. I am currently getting my my masters degree from the University of Massachusetts and thanks to one of my professors whom I disclosed "my story" to, I am in the process of undergoing an evaluation and getting the proper accommodations I need to succeed. So I've not been formally diagnosed just yet, but I am certain I am moderately/severely affected by dyspraxia. I have the fine motor, gross motor, speech, social and sensory impairments that one has with dyspraxia.
