I'm a 27 year old Dyspraxic, who's only just had the courage to 'come out' about it to friends & colleagues.
It wasn't that I was hiding it, it's more that I thought I could get round it through using alcohol & a job in customer services. Most of the problems (e.g. not being able to 'read' emotions & general chaotic thinking patterns) can be worked round, but that doesn't stop you being who you are.
And that's why I'm on here - to encourage others out of the closet.
Through writing a Wikipedia article on Famous Dyspraxics (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dyspraxia), I discovered that the number of famous people who have admitted being Dyspraxics can be counted on the fingers of one hand - we are even out-numbered by famous Belgians, people!
So come on, let's find find some celebrities who are Dyspraxic and are bold enough to declare it to the World. There is no reason to hide it & many virtues in showing it (as Florence & the Machine & Daniel Radcliffe have shown).
And, if we really are as rare as rocking-horse droppings, then maybe we should remember the words of Henry V at Agincourt:
"The fewer men [and women
God's will! I pray thee, wish not one man[/woman] more."
