Dyspraxic living in Leeds

Post by Ben »

Hey,
Im Ben, 22 from Leeds.
I was diagnosed with dyspraxia when I was 17.
i find it affects me with all sorts of practical things, particuarly at my job as a teaching assistant.
It also makes socialising hard , because of poorshort term memory and recall, when I meet people for the first time. But I have managed to build up good friendships by getting to know people gradually.
I would really like to get to know some fellow dyspraxic adults on this forum and IF POSSIBLE MEET UP FOR A DRINK.
dyspraxia makes so many things hard, but the gifts of dyspraxia, the creativity , unique ways of thinking, empathy, kindness , that it gives you, these sides of your personality- these often remain hidden from non dyspraxic people, because the social awquardness can get in the way. But whenever Ive met dyspraxic people in the past weve tended to understand each other and share oneanothers unusual sense of humour.
If you live in London , I would still be interested in meeting up, as I visit my parents sometimes during the long holidays that working in a school brings you!

My hobbies include things like, dancing, reading books, socialising ,playing guitar+piano, listening to music of various genres, travelling, climbing mountains and going on walks.

It would be great to get to know some of you guys

Hi Ben. Welcome to the forum. I'm 25 and was diagnosed with dyspraxia when I was 15. I volunteer for a dyslexia organisation, at a toyroom in a charity shop and at my local library.
