Dyspraxia or ADD spectrum

Post by Bump »

Good evening,

Does anyone know of educational psychologists who can test for dyspraxia and attention deficit disorders? I would prefer Scotland! I will grit my teeth and go private because the NHS seems so overwhelmed with MH.

I often thought I had Dyspraxia and it was flagged up by a career consultant going through my psychometric tests. However, 2 professionals I saw overseas thought I had ADD or ADHD. There can be co-morbidity too! #-o

Thank you!!

Since no one has answered this yet, have you tried the Dyspraxia Foundation? They may be able to suggest someone. The other option might be to ask your GP if he/she can help you organise a Private Referral

Please let us know how it works out, so we can hopdfully better inform others with similar queries.

Can I ask where overseas?

Hello,
Yes I did contact them and followed their links. I have spoken to one. It has been a long time because her reply went to a different email address to the one I expected!
The relevant professionals seem to be Central Belt and south of that. I will let you know how I get on.

Best wishes.

This was the link I followed

https://www.rcot.co.uk/about-occupation ... -therapist

Scroll down the blurb and click on the hyperlink "directory".

The OT I spoke to also assesses Disexecutive Syndrome and suggests doing the following tests:-
Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT)
Hayling Brixton
AMP motor processing
+ one other that I could not write down!

Hope that helps

Thanks for posting link to Royal College of Occupational Therapists website/directory

Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS IV) might be a possible candidate?
