Support groups for Dyspraxics finding employment

Post by LuluBoo »

](*,) quite frustrated that my attempts to get and stay in employment has been fruitless
I'm 20 my last job was in Nov 2011 and the 'lovely' people at the job centre have been less than helpful while I've been jumping through hoops.
I was formally diagnosed at 11 when I was 14 my OT stopped
I was diagnosed with depression in april last year and declared unfit for work in may until november.
I'm back job hunting and looking around I've seen no support for people with dyspraxia job hunting at all I rarely get past the interview stage
is there any support for people in the Basildon area who are trying to get out of the benefits trap
I get floatational support from a lady who makes sure i can iron ect
i also get DLA

Sadly, the support for neuro-diverse conditions is poor, the support for dyspraxia is exceptionally poor.

I saw the Disability Employment Advisors, they are either rude , useless or a combination of ignorance and arrogance !!

The economy is very poor, competition is very tough.

Advice, find your strength, get some qualifications if you can, improve your skills, do voluntary work

There are a lot of dyspraxics undiagnosed, unsupported, sadly. :(

The Dyspraxia Foundation has improved its knowledge but it is too weak.

You live 30 miles from London, come to the DANDA pub night, http://www.danda.org.uk
