hi im lost & hoping to find my way

Post by lostfemaleadult »

Im studying at college and went for help with my work college learning support is a dyslexia specialist and has said my writing is dyspraxic. But I feel lost and don't know where to go now. I looked at the dypraxia website and sent them an email. I can't make much sence of the reply but I clicked a link here.

I informed the job centre (as I dont have a job and thought this was the best thing to do with regards to my JSA agreement) and they are not sure what to say, the best thing they could offer me was to speak to the disability specialist they have when she comes back from off sick.

I dont know what to do.

Hi
Well at least the link worked . Sorry if the email reply wasn't helpful .
What should happen is the specialist you saw at college , should be bale to do a full diagnosis on you , which should then give you a report for the college to help provide you with better support . Virtually all colleges and Universities should do this service .
If not you can also ask your GP to refer you to a psychologist (educational/occupational). The disabilities team at the Job Centre are the people to speak to as well , however dependent on your area this can be a lottery . Some are of course better informed then others .
