dsa

Post by Lucy_Rush »

Since i got a formal diagnosis of dyspraxia a few months ago, and have a place on a pgce for september, i have applied for dsa support this time. (Didn't apply for my degree).

The main thing i was thinking i'd need would be some sort of study skills type help for essay writing. ( i picked a maths degree since i never could write essays!). But actually they reccomended lots of usefull things i hadn't thought of. Also some things i turned down since i didnt think i needed them (i.e. a notetaker and speech-to-text software). Also reccomended i have screening for something i forget the name of.

Glad i went for it anyway. :D

Trust me, don't turn anything down as soon as you start your course you will probably find you will need what is recommended.... :D
It is difficult to get your LEA to do anything further at a later date.... :(

The screening i remember is for irlen syndrome.
