In new places or with others around to consider, I tend to touch the walls and door frames (in a cool nonchalant manner:) because I think this helps.

I have a problem with all of the above... plus pockets and any other random part of clothing getting caught on the handle or that metal bit I also have a problem with trying to walk through a doorway before I've finished opening the door, which usually ends up with me walking into the door or smacking myself in the face with the door. Sometimes I've even tried to walk through the door before I've even tried to open it!

If the door is a 'push' door why is there even a handle on the push side?????
