Does anyone else find that they get much more clumsy and prone to fall or drop things when they're tired? When I'm tired if I try to do even basic things I'll end up burning myself when I cook, dropping the iron and breaking it when I iron, breaking glasses when I do the washing up, and falling over, crashing into things and generally not being able to function properly at all.
Now a days I make sure I get enough sleep- I can sleep any time now if I'm tired enough. If I don't manage to sleep enough, I abstain from doing anything physical. Some people may think this is just me being lazy cause I'm tired but I finally learned my lesson on trying to do things when tired- I think I'll save my money for something other than replacing breakages rather than doggedly do everything even when I'm too tired to manage.

I find that when I'm tired I get clumsier, but also very muddled and forgetful. I was helping my friend the other day and I kept asking her things I should know.

YES! i get this all the time. i also get this when i'm feeling upset or anxious, i find myself bumping into things, spilling drinks, breaking things around the house another thing i do is when i'm looking for something, i'll look in the same place about three times and not find anything and someone else will come up and be like "oh, here it is"
if i'm tired or anxious, i also find it more difficult to concentrate and retain information, often feeling like i don't know what i'm doing and asking the same questions over and over again, i also unintentionally interrupt people and repeat myself which annoys people a lot! x

Yup, I don’t think its just dyspraxics everybody finds it hard to concentrate when they are tired so they get a bit clumsy but dyspraxia probably does make the effect worse.

That sounds JUST like me!! lol! I often get frustrated with myself, and my abilty (or rather lack of) to function sometimes, especially when doing a simple task I have done many times before and KNOW I can do!electric_blue101 wrote:YES! i get this all the time. i also get this when i'm feeling upset or anxious, i find myself bumping into things, spilling drinks, breaking things around the house another thing i do is when i'm looking for something, i'll look in the same place about three times and not find anything and someone else will come up and be like "oh, here it is"

I have these little (what I like to call) mini meltdowns... If try to overthink something, and try TOO hard I end up 'burning myself out' and all of a sudden I'll completely stop, stand still, mind goes totally blank and I'll say 'I can't do it' and then burst into tears!!
That doesn't happen often these days, thankfully, I am now in a job role to which I am better suited but this time last year was a different story entirely... In a much 'happier place' now

Re: Tiredness & Clumseyness
I tend to get more clumsy and more forgetful the more anxious and more tired I get. I get really frustrated with the amount of times I forget things. Modern life is now all about logistics, remembering stuff and organising busy schedules together with the constant need to engage with technology - it's a flush on the senses for us dyspraxics and can be quite stressful.
re above - definitely "over-think" and over analyse!
