The Dentist

Post by Creative »

I went to see a deep cleaning specialist at the dentist today and he gave me these tablets called plq-search where your teeth turn red to show up all the plaque on them. You have to chew them and mix them with your saliva.
Anyone used them and if so have you any tips on using them correctly?

Ugh, I've only used them once, way back in school - out of two classes of 30 kids, I ended up having a dodgy reaction to them and started throwing up everywhere! I stress, I was the only person this happened to, and the dental nurse who came to the school said she'd never seen anyone react that way (poor lady was mortified!). Until my dodgy reaction, it was pretty interesting - and scary - to see the results. Needless to say, however, I haven't tried them again in my adult life!
If you try them, I'm sure you'll be fine, just be prepared for a potential shock, or you can come back and brag about how fab your teeth are!

My dentist is quite gruff though very good. You should have seen my reaction when he started giving out that I had plauqe because I've got very good teeth. I bet there aren;t that many people my age who have no fillings! I went off in a huff [-(

I'm going to try them this evening. I'll let you know how I get on.
Do they taste of anything as I'm sensitive to taste?

I'm dying to find out what happens....is it so that you can clean your teeth or do you have to go back to your dentist to get them cleaned tomorow or what?

It shows up where the plaque is on my teeth and then I clean it of.
I haven't tried it yet. I thought I'd watch Eastenders and then give it a go.

That's true!

Anyway I have just had a go. It turns out that old plaque turns blue, and new plaque turns red. I have a very blue tongue now! I didn't like the taste of the tablet and I think I rinsed my mouth too quickly. I will try to keep it in longer in the morning.

I have also had a go with my new tuffed brush. I think I used it right.

Interesting...do you have to use them every time you brush your teeth?

Yes for a month. It's meant to help improve how I brush my teeth.

No you won't, the blue goes away quickly. I had to leave the house this morning with a red tongue though!

I really hate how the tablets taste! I can't wait until I can stop using them and I've only been using them for 3 days!
