I walked out of a lecture this afternoon, becuase it hit very close to home. we were discussing rape and as i was raped three years ago this october 11th i just couldnt handle hearing it.
Shouldnt I have gotten over it by now? Ive been trying to work through it but as i discovered today im not doing particularly well at that.
Does anyone have any advice?
Cheers
Kirsty

Hi Kirsty
Its gonna take lots of time, courage, and determination to get over it.
Is there someone you can talk to like a close friend, or maybe the college counciller.
I find it helpful to keep a diary and write all of my thoughts and feelings in it, because it is a way of realeasing them from my mind.
I dont think you were wrong to walk out of your lecture, the topic probably caught you a bit of gard and is still a very sensitive area
hope this helps

perhaps speaking your lecturer beforehand or personal tutor, he/she would except you have personal difficulties with subject.
