my poor spacial awareness

Post by cat27 »

I was wondering if like me, other people on this site have poor spacial awareness, i can't go out without bumping
into something or someone! its really embarrassing at times! It certainly does not bode well for me learning to drive!
Although to be honest i don't really care, is this weird? most of the people i know think so, and are always urging me to learn.
Is there anyone on this forum who feels the same way? 8-[

I'm with you!

I have no desire to learn to drive, partly from a financial point of view, partly from lack of need and mainly from just not wanting to. I had about a dozen lessons about 5 years ago, but since then nada. My lessons were a disaster, with my left and right issues predominating, but also my slow reaction times also causing a significant problem. Fortunately, I live three minutes walk from a train station, and work 4 minutes walk from a station the other end with only a platform change in between.
Walking into things constantly - I knocked a wall bracket off the wall the other day in work and had to call the Building Admin staff to repair it before the wall collapsed!

I feel the same way. I applied for a bus pass due to my dyspraxia and I recieved it last week. This will save me some money which is great!

my hands on one? Are there any requirements creative? Its nice to know I'm not the only one who
is reluctant to drive!

My Dad wrote away for the form. I think it was from the council. Then I had to get a letter from my doctor to go with the form.

I didnt know you could get one for dyspraxia!! I have mine on the grounds of my epilepsy, has saved me a fortune since its gone national rather than just local, got the bus to southampton the other week, and regularly go to bristol now!"

I didn't either until my Dad suggested I apply for one. He had heard of someone who had got one on account of another learning difficulty. I was suprised to get it though. After all I have never had a test done to see if I would be able to drive. I may be able to drive it may just be a challenge.
