Looking for friendship and love in Preston or Lancashire

Post by m1985 »

I am a 33 year old man with Dyspraxia. I live in the Preston area.

I currently have 3 close friends but 2 of them live outside of the Preston area which leaves me with only one friend in Preston, I am looking to make new friends, especially people like myself who have dyspraxia.

I would also love to meet a single woman. I would like her to be aged between 28 and 36, and is local or can have easy access to the Preston or Lancashire area. I am prepared to travel a fair distance, but of course it would have to be on a regular basis of course. I could probably stretch it to Manchester or Liverpool perhaps, I can be quite shy to start off with, but once I get to know someone one and know what makes them tick and laugh, etc, I can be quite talkative and make people laugh.

I am a very nice person once you get to know me. I have never really had a serious relationship. I am in my mid 30s now and I would like to do something about it before it is starting to get a bit late and I may not find that certain someone.

Hi and welcome

Not sure how many women we have here from Lancs so fear your post may not be seen by your target female audience. If you're on 'Faceache' (other social media platforms exist) it might be worth posting in Dyspraxia focused groups (but not Dyspraxia - Dyspraxic Adults Surviving in a non-dyspraxic World) as you likely have a better chance of success there (though it would be nice if I was wrong and you do meet someone as a result of posting here).

I'm in the same type of single male life raft but I'm 43 and mine has a ragged hole in it and the sharks and crocs are circling! I would suggest online dating but tbh I've given up on that myself!

Hope it proves fruitful

Generally try to get out and do things you enjoy and try chatting to anyone who is receptive. If people aren’t receptive move on, they may be locked in their own thoughts and not in the mood, which is not your fault or problem.

The other thing you might consider is Meet Up or similar sites to look for local groups in which you have an interest. If they’re too cliquey walk away or start your own.

Two of the FB Dyspraxia Groups I’m aware of are Dyspraxia discussion anything goes and Dyspraxia UK Adults.
