How do people make friends ?

I have dyspraxia , I'm 24 and I'm really struggling right now. I have other conditions including agoraphobia and a pyshical condtion called fibromyalgia . So I can't leave the house by myself , I'm always stuck in my house with no one to talk to . My only friend lives in the USA 5000 miles away and we only see each other once a year. So my question is how do I make friends, how do I get people to talk to . I'm really awkward social and feel bad messaging people because I'm worried I'm always bothering them .

Internet chat rooms are fantastic if you can't go out and meet new people face to face. For example, I'm in a few chat rooms oriented around specific book series. Chat rooms with a common focus are great, because everyone automatically has common interests and can chat about them with each other ^-^

You can make lots of Dyspraxic friends here. I'm 31 and was diagnosed with Dyspraxia when I was 15. I like cats, reading and watching Soaps on TV. I find it difficult to make friends with people my own age as I feel different to them. I still live at home with my parents and I don't go out in the evenings so it is hard to meet people.

I dnt have any friends my age I used to but she abandoned me a few months ago , no warning or reason. I totally get what u mean about staying in so not meeting people . I can't leave the house alone so I'm pretty much trapped in my room
