making and keeping friends
Why is it when you have dyspraxia its so hard to keep and make friends i was in a relationship with a female called Amy who is dyspraxic who i met at senior school and we were fantastic together but a jealous ex ruined our relationship and Amy refused to stay in touch with me and that frustrated me i wish i knew what it was like to have friends at 30 years old i would love to be in a relationship with a dyspraxic female because i feel we would understand each other better than someone who does not know about the condition
Re: making and keeping friends
I do feel that we are potentially no worse at making and keeping friends than other members of the human population. We're generally very caring and loyal and not everyone has or demonstrates those qualities. I do think we have to be careful about being over determined/fixated which unfortunately can leave potential partners worrying that they may not be able to live up to expectations they perceive we might have placed upon them. It's a minefield and we do tend to over analyse where the mines might be before blundering/stamping across the field - or is that just my pessimistic take on the situation.
I don't think you should limit yourself to a dyspraxic female. There aren't as many around, and we guys I believe are statistically more likely to be dyspraxic. There are decent kind and understanding females to be found but yeah it does seem to be a struggle and one I'm battling with too.
Sorry to hear of Amy it's sad to read she chose to listen to the jealous ex but unfortunately you have to move on and find someone else who will appreciate you the same or preferably more than she did and who is hopefully less swayed by others of a jealous nature.
Hope this reply is helpful if not, you saw the minefield analogy and I apologise 8-)

I just don't know. But then again nothing good in life is ever easy and straight-forward.
