how to help people understand ?

Post by hopi »

hi, just wondering whats the best way of helping people to understand what it is we go through ?
i do have friends and close family etc but not many, which im sure we can all relate to ! just i have people who try and get whats going on with me, when im on bad day i know i confuse them or make them feel abit funny because they dont know what to say back or dont understand why i just done something. mainly one person who means alot to me and we both argue a little when i say i know somethings going to go like this or that, i know i can be stubborn but who isnt ? lol its just they at times cant understand my methods and i try to explain to them why i do it my way, but then they say its simple doing it this way !! you get my point ! lol either way before it gets to the point they are tempted to walk away from me or whatever how can i help them understand ? thanks

I am vey sorry Hopi you have this problem. I have it too. If someone has not got Dyspraxia it is very difficult I am sorry to say to explain it to them. I have one friend who though a very nice person latterly stopped Emailing me if I mentioned anything to do with Dyspraxia and the problems it caused me. I sent. her lots of information by Email but it seemed to get on her nerves me speaking about it all the time but I could not help it and the problems it brings with it. But I have another very good friend who though she does not have Dyspraxia her self is patient and understanding with me which is good. I also go to a learning centre Twice a week where the Tutors are very patient and understanding and there are other Adult Learners too who know what you are going through. I would recommend this to anyone who wants support and understanding, also this forum will be good because there are people like our selfs who know only to well what we are going through and will feel our pain deeply and care because of their own experiences.

Thanks again and all the best to you
