need advice

Post by syeda »

all my life i have suffered from anxiety and panic attacks and although iv never really been diagnosed i am pretty sure i have suffered from depression as well. it is just recently that i have really started to open to people about the problems that i have and everyone just seems to get angry at me now, they just cant bare to listen to the same **** over and over again. i start panicking to the tiniest things #-o . sometimes i become obbssesed with one thing and i wont let it go so everyone just starts to get angry at me i have heard this could be due to dyspraxia, so do you guys have any tips on coping with anxiety and stress and negative thoughts so that i no longer have to annoy the crap out of everyone?

It's certainly not uncommon among us here.

You can share your problems/frustrations on here or write them out in a private notebook. Sometimes the act of getting them out of your head helps you to step back and look at them and come up with solutions/new ideas to tackle them.

Give yourself time and try not to chastise yourself too much.

It's a sad fact but most people are wrapped in their own troubles and tend not to want to hear about yours.

Our determination to get stuck in to something can often verge on the obsessive. Sometimes you need to step away and leave it (at least for a while) or admit it may not something you really need to worry about in the grand scheme of things.

I don't like change either but unfortunately it's inevitable, try to be positive about it and look for opportunities in the things your good at and accept that you can never be good at everything but perseverance can pay off sometimes.

Have you asked for help from your GP or your Uni's welfare team. CBT may be an option though it doesn't work for everyone it may be worth a try. Try to approach it with an open mind and try not to out think it. (basically dismissing it as nonsense, or thinking 'I'm too far gone for this, how can I apply it to my situations.)

Hope these ideas are of some use/help

All the best
