The pressure parents will put on their kid (whether it is in favour or against the abortion) is what turns most girls off ever telling their parents. Even if a girl is certain she will have an abortion, does not make it an easy choice, and the last thing she will want is guilt-tripping by anxious parents over a matter that is highly personal to her. Whatever choice she makes it should be her own and not her parents. She should not be pressured to go through with a pregnancy she doesn't want anymore than she should be pressured to abort a potential baby she wants to keep.
I think most girls who go through abortions & who don't tell their parents do so because they know their parents will try to force their opinions or guilt-trip them about what they've done or are about to do etc.
