On my own and frankly scared as hell.

Post by BillericayNick »

Hi all, I'm new to this forum and I'm hoping I can maybe find some advice and support as I don't know where to turn.

I'm 29 years old and have been in a relationship with an amazing girl since I was 17, this amazing girl has just left me and I am obviously distraught. I feel as if it was partly due to me never growing into a social outgoing person like she did.
I don't feel as if I have developed much socially since we got together, I'm a very quiet person and often stand there like a spare part in a group of people with absolulty nothing to say. So as you can imagine I am petrified of having to go out into the world and meet people
Anyway I'm not too sure where i'm going with this and I'm an icredibly slow typer so i'l sum up, how do get over this social ineptness and become a proper person? It would be amazing to talk or even meet with other dyspraxic people that have overcome their social problems.

thanks
Nick

Hi Nick, I'm sorry to hear that your relationship didn't work out for you. Peoople with dyspraxia are often quiet people who find socialising in groups hard. You are a proper person, you are just a bit different which is fine. It would be a boring world if we were all the same!

Where abouts are you Nic - there are groups around the place organised by the dyspraxicia foundation.
There are events organised / hosted by the foundation - this is a oppertunitie to meet other dyspraxic people.
