Why are people so ignorant regarding dyspraxia ? Giving up on getting a diagnosis
Hi everyone as I have said in the past me having a mild Dyspraxia was mentioned by a psychiatrist when I was 14. I forgot about it for years up until recently in light of things such as being more clumsy when stressed etc. Also a few years ago I came across the website that made me think "oh is...

Re: Talking to people in my head

A lot of the time I start thinking about something or someone and start babbling in my head about what I should of said to them while daydreaming the conversation etc. Other times I daydream and have conversations with peopl...

Re: Hand eye coordination difficulties
I am always enamoured with how women are able to put on makeup with such precision; there's no way I could do it, and I'd probably poke my eye out if I tried to. I imagine you're already diagnosed with Dyspraxia? If so, practise does indeed help, but progress is often really slow, and our skill cei...

Re: Is psychiatry any better nowadays at understanding dyspraxia?
In my opinion I don't think they know much about Dypraxia, I think it depends on the psychiatrist some know I met one who knew about it. I also struggle with peeling potatoes which Is why I've avoided it for while until I got the razor like peelers.

Certain habits

I don't know wheither this is a dyspraxia trait or not but does anyone else feel most comfortable crossed legged? I ha...

Re: Does anyone else break zips and tangle up earphones?
Earphones and stuff getting tangled is absolutely normal. It's just entropy, ie. the tendency of things to go from an ordered state to a disordered state over time, and as there are way more ways wires can be tangled than untangled, entropy inevitably makes them tangled. It may be slightly worse fo...

Re: Can openers!
The height of dyspraxic frustration-fancying a tin of rice pudding and you can't work out how to use the can opener ! Personally I find can openers very strainous and stiff and my wrist is knackered by the time the can is open, half the time I'm twisting it the wrong way or breaking the can and can...

Hand eye coordination difficulties
Hello, there are many of us who have not had a formal diagnosis, me included. Having said that there are quite a few people who have had one. Now to talk about a few hand eye coordination difficulties I personally have that I didn't think anything of until I got older and wanted to try different thi...
