Re: You know you're dyspraxic when

I also love this post, its very therapeutic to look at the once stressed situation and write it down and actually laugh. I sleep in my day clothes at times so I woke up and changed my top but not trousers and underwear. Did not realise this so made my way to work. Before exiting my flat, I got trapp...

Re: Lack of determination

To a point, I had lots of past failures in my career, being fired from loads of places that honestly made me think why do I even want to work in this sector any more., but I do not think I lack determination, In fact I try harder if someone says something negative my about my work, and believe me th...

Re: Swallowing Tablets.

I'm glad I am not the only one who has trouble with this

There are some pain relief tablets that you can dissolve on your tongue, they actually taste nice as well.

Re: Embarrassing Incidents In Public

As far as I remember, it was just her. She came from behind the bar to ask me, she stared at me to see if my pupils were dilated. I wish I had said something offence or outrageous back but just said no and walked away.

Re: judge of character

Thank you for your replies :) To AlleyCat: I am really sorry you got judged purely on the fact you were not married or did not have children. That is so judgemental and unbelievable that people would be thinking this is a big concern. To both: I guess I do realise that it is too good to be true that...

Re: Embarrassing Incidents In Public

A barwoman once came up to me and asked if I had been doing drugs after I asked to use her toilet as I banged into a table

judge of character

I hope this is worded ok, I know what I want to say, its just writing it :) ok, I know people who have Dyspraxia can not judge characters as easily/well as non Dyspraxia people, we will believe someone who says something even if they are lying, I mean I certainly can not tell. I feel like I have bee...

Re: Newbie question

You have possibly got answers now and will not return I do not know but when I first got told that I had Dyspraxia 6 years ago and actually researched it, I was like that is not me because I am a fast runner and was on the school basketball team, plus my hand eye coordination is not bad so can relat...

Re: Adult Fiction

I know this post is quite old but I love reading books and I think people are divided, when it comes to reading books. I personally love any almost any Stephen King book especially, Salem's Lot, The Stand, IT and The Shining, Rebecca is a good novel and The Cider House Rules by John Irving which is ...

Re: Making friends

I can empathise, I find it hard to form close friendships at times as well. For me I take baby steps, like smile and listen to what people say especially in groups. I usually prefer talking to people on a one to one basis as its easier. I have worked where I work over a year now, and I have only jus...

Re: A particular night

Thank you all for the supporting replies. I have a supervision coming up and so if he continues to bother me then I am going to have to raise some issues, but in all honesty I worked with him yesterday and it was like when we first worked together which was a better time. I am not that naive to thin...

Re: A particular night

Thank you for responding, I know it seems I am coming across as maybe whining, its just at this moment in time, this job means so much to me. I have many times been thinking about complaining during my next supervision and I know he will not get told about it either. I think I am worried who I tell....

Re: A particular night

So I did another night with my annoying work colleague which ended in me being so incredibly annoyed. I actually was not going to post but I had a headache due to not sleeping very well during day and he made me so mad around 06.00 So night begins with Service User bringing down his duvet sheet and ...

Re: Best part time job for a dyspraxic 18 year old?

I think in every job comes lots of different challenges especially for people with Dyspraxia. Having worked in care for a lot of my adult life, for me that is an environment I thrive in, but I did have to find a home that was very accepting and I found one  Anyway, maybe if you knew what you...

Re: A particular night

I dont know if they do, His friend does often say things about him but that comes with affection as well. I have never seen anyone make fun of him, but in honesty I do not look out for it. Maybe I ought to. I just think he wants to see me more involved socially. But yes I do agree with having about ...
